From bright imaginations sprang vivid new colors. Hear The Rite of Spring performed on the 100th anniversary of its debut. Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake transformed the role of music in the ballet from a grand decorative gesture into an essential component of the drama on stage. Contemporary composer Huang Ruo created a new concerto for sheng, an ancient Chinese mouth organ known for its exotic sound.
