Jeanne Wilson is piccoloist and flutist with the Hartford Symphony, the Connecticut Orchestra, and the Goldman Memorial Band. She has also performed with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony, EOS Orchestra, New York Pops, Solisti New York Chamber Orchestra, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, New Haven Symphony, Stamford Grand Opera, Metropolitan Opera Guild, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Jupiter Symphony, the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra, and in several Broadway productions.

As principal flutist of the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, Jeanne has recorded several CDs on the Newport Classic label. In addition, she has recorded on the SONY label as a member of the Satori Wind Quintet. The quintet made their New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall as winners of the Artists’ International Competition, and has been on the rosters of Young Audiences of New York and New Jersey. Her other chamber music experience includes playing with members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in the Saint Andrew Music Society. Jeanne has also toured with Philip Glass in the European production of his opera La Belle et la Bête.

After graduating magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Jeanne received a Masters degree in Flute Performance from SUNY at Stony Brook, where she was Samuel Baron’s teaching assistant. Her other teachers include Thomas Nyfenger, Michael Parloff, and Keith Underwood. She has been granted fellowships to many festivals, including Waterloo, Yale at Norfolk, Grand Teton, New College at Sarasota, and has presented masterclasses/recitals at UMass and the University of New Hampshire.

A frequent recitalist in and around the New York Metropolitan area, Jeanne is currently on the faculties of New Jersey City University, The Juilliard School Music Advancement Program, and the Horace Mann School.
