Young Artists Competition
The Hartford Symphony Orchestra’s annual statewide instrumental competition is open to Connecticut high school students studying an instrument of the orchestra: brass, woodwinds, strings, percussion, or piano.
During the formal Finals Concert, 5 to 7 finalists perform a standard concerto movement from memory with accompaniment. Finalists split cash prizes totaling $3,000, and the first-place winner may perform with the HSO in a concert during the following season!
This competition is an invaluable performance experience for the aspiring student musician who has achieved a high level of proficiency.
