Student Tickets
Students can attend the Hartford Symphony’s concerts at considerable discounts! Tickets can be purchased at either HSO Ticket Services in advance with the purchase of a full price ticket, or at the box office starting one hour before the concert. Valid ID required.
Group student tickets may be reserved and purchased in advance by calling HSO Ticket Services at 860.244.2999, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
Pre-Concert Student Performances
The Hartford Symphony provides performance opportunities for student ensembles 1/2 hour before Masterworks Series concerts at The Bushnell. This performance opportunity provides a supportive audience for the students and also gives the HSO clientele a chance to see enthusiastic young musicians. All performers and chaperones receive tickets to see the concert following their performance.
Student Internships
In 2007, the HSO launched its new Arts Administration Internship Program to provide the best experience for college students seeking a career in the arts while better serving the needs of the HSO. A limited number of unpaid undergraduate and graduate internships in the HSO’s marketing/public relations, education/community programs, and arts administration departments are available each season. Students may receive college credit; depending on arrangements made with their school. Interns must be available 10-12 hours per week.
Junior internships provide middle and high school students with a great opportunity to learn about arts administration and non-profit organizations. Their participation may also fulfill school community service requirements. Time commitments vary depending on junior intern’s schedule and the HSO’s needs.
